Nose: Fresh barley and zesty lemon top notes, backed up by a whiff of peppery rye bread.
Palate: Heavy with vanilla and Victoria sponge cake. Grassy at points. Mint leaf herbaceousness.
Finish: Subtly chocolatey on the finish.
Douglas Laing has created a cask strength bottling of its The Epicurean blended malt – with a name honouring its home in Glasgow! Made exclusively with malt whiskies from the Lowlands, and references the Duke of Wellington statue’s infamous traffic cone hat (a frequent sight in Glasgow). While it retains a lot of its classic Lowland-style elegance, the bumped-up ABV gives it a punchy flavour profile.
